The links below take you to government websites and some employment opportunities in Sheffield. It is also useful to use a search engine to look for specific jobs, for example ‘Part time sales assistant in S1 Sheffield’.

The links below take you to websites known as job boards. These websites list a broad range of jobs but can be easily filtered by things such as postcode, hours to work, job type, salary.

You will need a CV for these websites as there is an option to upload your CV, so that employers can contact you. We can help you create a CV, update it, or give you advice on using these websites.

Raising the Participation Age (RPA)

You can leave school on the last Friday in June if you’ll be 16 by the end of the summer holidays.

You must then do one of the following until you’re 18:

  • stay in full-time education, for example at a college
  • start an apprenticeship or traineeship
  • spend 20 hours or more a week working or volunteering, while in part-time education or training
