Friday 15th November until Friday 13th December

Developed by professionals in health and education; It’s specifically designed for parents and carers who have children under five and offers a universal and general overview. We deliver the programme face-to-face in venues across the city; we focus on sharing practical information about children’s health, emotional wellbeing and education and it’s FREE!

Parents naturally want the best for their children - but this isn’t always an easy job. Having new information helps if we want to try and do things a bit differently. During each session we explore different key childhood themes and talk through practical and helpful tips to help families achieve small changes to their health, wellbeing and lifestyles for happier and healthier family lives.

Here are some of the areas we explore each week:

Week 1: Understanding what helps us to be healthy, ideas that help our children grow and learn, plus become a food label detective.

Week 2: Why developing consistent routines helps create confident parenting styles and understanding how this relates to positive children's behaviours.

Week 3: Discover where our eating habits start. Understanding and avoiding food fussiness, plus; weaning, portion sizes and creating relaxed mealtimes.

Week 4: Understanding children’s behaviours, why empathy and using guided choices helps. And thinking why our own wellbeing matters.

Week 5: How family activity benefits more than just our bodies.  Ideas to help children enjoy brushing teeth and find out how much sugar is in our snacks.

We discuss these topics and cover lots more, thinking about children’s overall development throughout our Start Well Family Programme. The sessions are informative and relaxed, delivered by our friendly early years team.
