Session Aims:

Equip staff with the skills to promote family conversations, create stories, tell stories confidently and also to share ideas for telling stories with families.

Participants will experience a story about a personal treasure, a story about homemade toys and a story made up from imagination and a few pipe-cleaners.

They will have designed and made props that they can use in storytelling and will have lots of ideas for how to use them. They will have reflected on why storytelling and oracy are important for families and discussed ways to develop them.

“Everybody In!” Join aclaimed storyteller Carmel Page, have an adventure with pipe-cleaners and discover how easy it is to make up stories with families. This have-a-go session is full of hands on fun. You will make your own story props and build your confidence in creating and sharing stories.

Bring something with you that you treasure, it doesn’t have to be valuable, it could be a photo, a mug, an ornament anything with a story you would like to share with others.

Take away a box of goodies to help you share the magic of making up stories.
