Spectrum Social Care understands that employing and managing Personal Assistants (PAs) can be a daunting prospect for some people, but recognize that Personal Assistants often bring a lot of support and flexibility to individual’s lives. Spectrum provides support for older people, people with learning disabilities, physical impairment and/or sensory impairment, people on the autistic spectrum and people with mental health needs.

If you would like help to recruit and employ PA's Spectrum can provide you with a service to help. The service has a pool of Personal Assistants with a range of skills and availability. They can introduce you to a PA from their pool or they can recruit someone you have already chosen on your behalf.

You can choose to employ a PA from the pool and manage them yourself and undertake all of the paperwork such as time sheets and audits, or you can ask Spectrum to oversee every aspect of your PA’s employment.

Prices:

Prices vary depending on what level of assistance you need to employ your Personal Assistants.

• Employ a PA from the pool – PA pay levels start at minimum wage per hour
• Employ your own PA that you have chosen – starting from minimum wage per hour
• To provide a payroll service for your PA’s costs £30 set up fee, then £4.32 per wage slip plus £30 end of year returns to HMRC
• Managed Account (to include all of the above plus audit on your behalf to the Local Authority) - costs £250, plus £30 set up fee
• If you take out both Payroll and Managed Account services, only one set up fee of £30 is charged
• To advertise, interview, recruit and set up contracts of employment and training package please speak to the office for a personal set up cost

These services are available all year round (office not available on Bank Holidays).

Qualifications and Quality Standards:

All Personal Assistants recruited through the PA's R Us pool will have references and you can request that your Personal Assistants have an Enhanced Vetting & Barring check (CRB).
